Basic adjectives

How many Polish adjectives you've already known?

mały- duży (small- big)
piękny, ładny- brzydki (beautiful, pretty- ugly)
czysty- brudny (clean- dirty)
szybki- wolny (fast- slow)
szczęśliwy- smutny (happy- sad)
dobry- zły (good- bad)
zdrowy- chory (healthy- ill)
interesujący- nudny (interesting- boring)
mądry- głupi (clever- stupied)
wysoki- niski (tall- short)
gruby- chudy/ szczupły (fat- thin/ slim)
drogi- tani (expensive- cheap)
stary- młody/ nowy (old- young/ new)
długi- krótki (long- short)

Remember that you can use 3 diffrent endings for each Polish adjective.

If you decribe a feminine noun (all with the ending -a), the adjective should end with -a as well, e.g.
mała kawa (a small coffee)
szczęśliwa dziewczyna (a happy girl)
interesująca książka (an interesting book)

If you describe a neutral noun (with the ending: -o or -e or -um), the adjective should end with -e, e.g. 
małe piwo (a small beer)
szczęsliwe dziecko (a happy child)

If you decribe a masculine noun (all the rest), the adjective should end with -y or -i (after k,g), e.g.
mały sok (small juice)
szczęśliwy chłopak (a happy boy)
wysoki chłopak (a tall boy)
dobry dzień (a good day)

All adjectives given in dictionary are masculine, so you should remember to change the ending when you decsribe feminine or neutral noun!
